Shadow Dancer

I am the shadow
Of every soul
Passing in the moonlight
Before it dies.

I sit behind my fence
Pensive
Wind blows feel
Eccentric
Like they carry history
And things to come.

I quit trying to be
What others see
A mirage of me

Sad eyes
I’m a curved high rise
Of passive emotion.

I can move oceans
With my love,
Fill caverns
With my hurt;
I’m a penny
Waiting to be picked up
And traded for a thought.

Don’t let the raindrops
Melt my smile.
I just birthed it
Yesterday.

If you don’t wake up
I’ll stay forever sleeping
With a weeping willow
For my pillow.

I fly trees
In my sleep.
I’m a shadow dancer,
A soul advancer,
A decadent hologram
Of the I Am.

I sell crystals
In the city of horror;
Give away hope
For new tomorrows,
And I can’t fill fists
That won’t open to palm,
Or give nourishment
To help you grow strong
If you don’t make the choice
To hold on.

You ask me
How can darkness be light?
I ask you
Have you ever gazed
The moon at night?
