While reading a book I just happened to pick up on sale, Stone Age Wisdom
, I’ve found answers for many curiosities that I’ve needed defined. There are a few times I’ve become lost in the depth of this book, so I’ve had to re-read certain portions sometimes three or four times. One section in particular brought a great amount of clarity for my own life. This is the section that defines the difference between spirit and soul and what can happen to the soul.
Our spirit is the part of us that never dies. It has been born again and again. Spirit is in no rush with life, is happiest when there is balance and organization about. You will return in human form through this spirit many times.
Soul is the part of us that houses our sense of purpose and power. Soul is the part of us that is on a mission, feeling a sense of urgency, or a divine potential. Soul will plague you if you ignore its purpose. Soul has the ability to fragment itself or allow its energy to be completely depleted. When this happens, your quality of life is severely compromised.

There are four ways that a soul can be lost.
1. Soul Fright. Soul fright happens when you experience a severe or violent trauma like a rape or beating in which you fear for your life.
2. Soul Flight. Soul fight happens in near death experiences as the soul comes too close to the other side and not all of the soul makes it back. This is often seen in surgeries where anesthesia is involved, and sometimes when you are under the influence of spirit or mind altering medicines or drugs.
3. Soul Theft. Soul theft happens when someone else takes our soul energy. Some may say that no one can take our soul energy unless we allow them too. An example of this would be when there is long term abuse or a dramatic power imbalance in a relationship where the abused or dominated soul continues to remain. However, others can steal our soul’s energy. If you can be healed by another's energy, whether it be a pastor, or spiritual healer, then likewise your soul's energy can be taken from you in the same fashion.
4. Soul Wandering. Soul wandering happens when you constantly ignore the messages from your soul and refuse to remember your soul purpose on Earth. It is choosing to live in a soul deadening way.
Reading this absolutely fascinated me. No psycho-therapy that I’ve ever seen has explored this type of healing, of course. Yet it makes complete sense. Understanding my own experiences growing up on a 70’s cult where the power imbalances and abuse were extreme, and looking at how much I’ve struggled in my soul through life, I was able to in a sense “diagnose” myself. Coming to an understanding of why helps so much in figuring out the how.
Many of us have parallel experiences and can share our own childhood traumas. Yet how many of us walk around just never quite feeling completely whole? Is this because our souls have been frightened, or are wandering, and we just don’t know exactly how to fix itt? Is this why people strive to have spiritual experiences, to be caught up in the rapture of holy energy in order to try and re-create the sense of regaining their souls?
I am fascinated with this subject and will share more with you as I continue on my journey of discovery. Each time I dig in this flower bed, I find at least one beautiful bud that I can add to my everlasting flower arrangement. Let peacefulness be all around you.
